Throughout June, Acorns is partnering with local law firms from across the region to provide a free Will writing service as part of the Birmingham-based charity’s annual Make a Will Month.
Whatever your circumstances, Acorns Legacy Officer Liz Betteridge, says now is the time to take control of your future by joining the Acorns scheme.
Liz explained: “We understand that planning for your future in this way is never easy and the idea of writing a Will can seem very daunting.
“But writing a Will has so many benefits. Not only does your Will make sure your wishes are known after you’re gone, it is an important way to protect your loved ones. It also helps to ensure all your belongings, big or small, go to the right place.
“You are never too young to write a Will, so don’t miss out on this opportunity to make your voice heard and get valuable peace of mind.”
Those who sign up to Acorns Make a Will Month will also be invited to support local children and families by making a voluntary donation towards the charity’s vital children’s hospice care.
Liz added: “It is free to take part in Acorns Make a Will Month and there is no obligation to make a donation to Acorns, although a gift – however big or small – will help us continue to provide our vital children’s hospice care and create precious memories for families across Birmingham to treasure forever.”
Acorns Children’s Hospice provides specialist palliative care for life limited and life threatened children and young people across the West Midlands as well as support for their families.
In the past year, the charity has cared for more than 700 children and over 940 families, including those who are bereaved.
Acorns relies on fundraising and donations to provide its lifeline care and support. It costs the charity £7,000 each day to run one of its three hospices.
