Martin has recently raised over £850 in his annual Christmas raffle. The money he raises all goes towards the Haematology and Oncology unit, at Blackpool Teaching Hospital Trust. This money has paid for new water coolers in the day units, where patients are receiving their chemotherapy treatment, 8 Dyson air fans for the unit and many other wonderful things that help the patient experience on his unit. The prizes in his raffle are all donated by patients, staff and local businesses.
Martin has said “It is nice to be able to make a difference for people who are receiving treatment and may be in a harder position then ourselves. The illnesses our patients have, take over them and the lives of those around them, it is important that we can give them their life back and help rehabilitation in whatever way possible.”

Martin recently won our Blue Skies award for all the amazing work he does for us and his unit. It is safe to say, Martin is truly our hero!
