Acorns is appealing for seasonal supporters to help refresh stock at the charity’s shops in Castle Bromwich, Chelmsley Wood, Kings Heath, Knowle, Scott Arms, Shirley and Weoley Castle for the new year by donating unwanted Christmas gifts.
Gary Pettit, Head of Retail and Retail Operations at Acorns, said: “Don’t leave your unwanted gifts gathering dust in the back of the cupboard, give them a new lease of life by donating them to Acorns. That celebrity cookbook you never wanted may be perfect for someone else.”
Acorns needs £27,000 per day to provide its care and support services with the charity’s network of over 45 shops across the West Midlands playing a key part in helping to raise those funds.
Gary added: “Donating your unwanted gifts to Acorns shops is an easy way to show your support for local children and families and end what has been a very challenging year in a positive way. You might even need to clear space on your shelves or in your wardrobe for the presents you love. So why not donate your preloved items too? By doing so you’ll be helping us continue providing our vital children’s hospice care.”
Acorns Children’s Hospice offers specialist palliative care for babies, children and young people with life limiting and life threatening conditions across the West Midlands, as well as support for their families.
The charity has been at the forefront in the battle against coronavirus, supporting some of the most vulnerable families as well as the wider emergency response of the NHS and social care system.
