It is the first time in ten years that the artist has made a print of his work available for sale, having last produced a limited-edition print at Manchester Art Fair in 2013.
Celebrated local artists Ian Rayer-Smith and Liam Spencer have also created a unique limited edition print only available to buy at Manchester Art Fair.
Ian Rayer-Smith is an accomplished painter whose work draws from various sources, including the old masters and contemporary culture, Rayer-Smith’s aim is to create paintings which deliver a powerful and emotional impact, or which exude a captivating source of energy. Well known for his large paintings, this will be the first time he has produced a piece as a limited edition, so this is a truly exclusive opportunity to own a piece of his work.
Known for his vivid portrayals of urban landscapes, particularly of Manchester, Burnley born artist, Liam Spencer, came to prominence with a solo exhibition at Lowry arts centre in 2000. He has since exhibited widely, with his paintings collected avidly.
All signed and numbered, the limited-edition prints will retail for £60 each and be available exclusively at Manchester Art Fair, which returns to the city this November 17 – 19.
Speaking on the announcement, Managing Director of Manchester Art Fair, Sophie Helm, said: “AKSE’s murals are some of the most celebrated and cult works to be found on the streets of Manchester. We are proud to welcome him, Liam, and Ian to Manchester Art Fair and to provide a platform for the sale of these iconic and rare pieces of work to raise funds for these fantastic charities.”
Both Spencer and Rayer-Smith will also be speaking as part of this year’s Art Talk programme at Manchester Art Fair.
On Saturday 18 November at 12pm, Spencer will introduce his work, taking visitors on an exploration of the Irwell and its valley from its source in Rossendale to its destination at Salford Quays and the Manchester Ship Canal. Paintings, drawings, photography, and film will reveal its post-industrial landscapes and the wildlife which thrives there, often discreet and hidden from view.

The limited-edition photographs and prints will be available to buy at Manchester Art Fair on stand 300 from Friday November 17 when the much-anticipated fair returns to the city with an exclusive preview event, followed by public days on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19. They will be available on a first come first served basis.
