Preston business centre, Cotton Court, has launched a competition to help local start-ups achieve their goals. The Cotton Court Start Up Competition is open to Lancashire-based entrepreneurs, both established and those at the very beginning of their journey.

The winner will receive a dedicated package of benefits, including a ‘hot desk’ at Cotton Court for 12 months, marketing and design support, mentoring, access to regular networking events, a 12 month smart telephone package, professional photography as well as a series of other benefits.

Applications should be submitted on the Cotton Court website until 12 April 2019, with applicants initially filling in a form, before a shortlist of applicants are invited to film an elevator pitch video. Ten of these videos will then be published for both social media and panel voting. The top three start-ups will then be invited to Cotton Court to pitch their ideas to an expert panel.

Robert Binns, Managing Director, Cotton Court, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for a local business to follow in the footsteps of previous Cotton Court start-ups, including, Vibe Group, a business now a multi-million pound business with offices in Lancashire and London.”

“Cotton Court has been helping start-ups establish and grow for over a decade. This competition will give both start-ups and entrepreneurs the opportunity to access the excellent facilities and packages here at Cotton Court for free over a 12 month period, giving them the space and support to rapidly grow.”

Luke Massie, CEO of Vibe Group, said: “As an entrepreneur, you are a product of your environment so it’s important to surround yourself with people with similar goals, ambitions and drive. I started out on a desk at Cotton Court and now have offices in Lancashire and London. If you’re starting out in business, I really couldn’t think of a better place to be than Cotton Court….it certainly worked out for me!”
